  • Maier Psychology fees are below what is recommended by the Australian Association of Psychologists ($330 per 50 minute session).
  • Please note that Maier Psychology does not offer bulk billing services and the full fee is required on the day of your appointment.

Rebates and Funding

  • Medicare rebates are available for some psychological therapy services. Referrals must be made through a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician who will assess eligibility for rebates under a Mental Health Care Plan.
  • Eligible clients with a Mental Health Care Plan can claim $98.95 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Speak with your doctor to arrange a plan.
  • If your family has reached the Medicare safety net threshold, your rebate will be higher. Any questions regarding your safety net should be directed to Medicare.
  • Neurodevelopmental and learning assessments are not covered by Mental Health Care Plans. It may be helpful to speak with your child's paediatrician or psychiatrist regarding Medicare support for diagnosis and treatment of a complex neurodevelopmental condition (e.g. autism).
  • For families accessing therapy through NDIS plans, sessions may be funded (self and plan-managed only). Please note that a gap fee may apply.
  • Maier Psychology is not a registered NDIS provider, so sessions are billed privately and payment is required upfront.
  • Families are responsible for managing their own NDIS claims and submissions. Maier Psychology is unable to liaise with or receive payment directly from plan managers or the NDIS.
  • Some private health insurance companies offer rebates for psychological services. Please enquire directly with your provider to determine your eligibility.
  • Maier Psychology is not currently able to directly process private health insurance claims for you. Receipts are provided for all services to allow for reimbursement.
  • Please note that you cannot claim through both Medicare and your private health fund for the same appointment.
